Don't fear the CX-9
By M Wells | on Wednesday, July 15, 2020
I switched from a Pilot Touring 2016 to a CX-9 GT. My advise to those who think about switching, go ahead, don’t hesitate. Sportier, smoother and quieter ride. I’m not going to diss the Pilot, I liked it. Even my wife, she was a fan of the Pilot and she wasn’t really happy buying the CX-9 but after she drove it she was sold. If you’re a family of 6 or 7 and you need the third row don’t buy it. It would be too small. Otherwise don’t hesitate. The reason why we switched is because our Pilot got stolen. We were looking for a used Pilot or Highlander but we decided to buy something less expensive. There is so many bills to pay with the childs and everything we didn’t want to spend too much money on a car. A used CX-9 is almost 5k less than a Pilot or a Highlander and the insurances are lower too. To me that’s a steal. You get something that’s on the Acura, Lexus or Audi territory for way less than a Honda or Toyota. And for those interested in what’s under the hood this is a really advanced engine. What they have done with the turbo is impressive. 227 HP might not seems like a lot but 310 ft-lb of torque is really impressive. For those not familiar with torque let’s just say that torque is where the fun is. It’s fun because it is easily accessible. You get it from low RPM, you don’t need to rev up to get it. It's always there ready to use.… - 5.0
Underrated
By RayQC | on Friday, June 28, 2019
I have owned this car for 3 years now and I haven't had any issues at all, except for the Infotaiment System that had an small crack inside. Called Mazda after a month, they had it replaced after 2 weeks. Don't buy this car if you are shopping for 7-seater as the 3rd row is kinda small. I have a family of 3 so I didn't really need it, I just use it as 2rows with a huge space at the back. The interior is one of the best in it's class. The driving is even better compared to Pilot and Highlander. The Turbo engine gives you a more exciting driving experience and of course Mazda's SkyActiv tech. All in all, It really is a reliable SUV for a family of 3-5. The Quality is great, comfort is above average, styling is top-notch and Value is the best. For 35k USD this is the cheapest yet best when it comes to performance. Really an underrated SUV.… - 5.0
Better than I thought!
By NC2QUIN | on Monday, December 16, 2019
This suv has surpassed my expectations. The turbo is perfect for when you are merging, passing etc, otherwise allowing great gas mileage for all the space! I get 27 mpg and drive 9 over the limit. On the road passengers always comment on the smooth ride and quiet. My fav is the handling and response. I drive fast and get impatient behind slow pokes so I pass and like the turbo responding promptly. It handles great in curves, was just in the mountains yesterday ✅ I’m very pleased!…
