Make sure to check that the battery charger is completely turned off before you begin. Now, connect the positive cable to the positive connection on the battery; it should be larger than the opposite rod. The second cable is then connected to the remaining terminal rod on the car battery. Once everything is connected correctly, you can turn on the battery charger and set it to the machine’s lowest charge rate.

It can take anywhere from six to 12-hours or more to completely charge a car battery, but you’ll have to check the charger’s instructions against the battery’s amperage to find the proper charge-time for the setup you have.
